Centerpieces: In Progress

School is officially out! That means the wedding is officially SOON!!! Luckily, I now have lots of time to work on wedding stuff. Today's project: centerpieces! I LOVE the little mint julep cups that we ordered, now I'm working diligently to fill them with flowers (thanks everyone who helped me build up a supply of them!). Check them out!
Here is the good news....

Here is the bad news....or the challenge, as I like to think of it! :) I need to make lots more flowers and lots more leaves!
Now hopefully it doesn't do THIS on our wedding day, or all our flowers will melt!

Mint Julep Cups

I just ordered 36 Mint Julep Cups for floral arranging! Thanks Elissa for finding that awesome site. Kinda wish I didn't know it existed... :) Hopefully these will be cute and not too cheesy (they are plastic!) and will work for our centerpieces and various other decorative spots.Since I'm on a roll, I also spotted mint julep-style unity candle holders that I might just have to get, too!

Bouquets for the Girls!

Elissa and I finished my bouquet, 7 bridesmaid bouquets, and a tossing bouquet tonight! OK, actually they still need ribbon, but they are getting close. You can see the hard work of a lot of people making flowers in these little beauties! Thanks girls!

Now I have flowers for the guys (made an all-ivory one for Jason this weekend) and the girls. Coursages and centerpieces next? Jason was googling places to rent Mint Julip cups...we are on the hunt!

Flower Frenzy!

Elissa and I have been ditched by our boys, and so we took the opportunity to work on flowers! While Elissa pumped out paper flowers, I tried making some boutonnieres. They turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself! Sorry for the crappy camera phone pics, they will look better in person. :)

Thanks for a great family shower!

Thanks for a great shower! It was so fun to have Friesen-Brehm-Gedneys all together, plus some extras that have been adopted into the "family."

Sneaky Peanut picture. (Miss Peanut does not know what she's getting herself into with this family!)

We played a fun game and the bridesmaids cleaned up the prizes!

Tessa approves of the pink flower cupcakes...but doesn't want to try to recreate them.

Elissa gave the delicious food a thumbs up!

Mom was busy in the kitchen in her cute dahlia apron! And both my grandmas were there!

I just wish we'd gotten a picture of the whole crew!

Good idea, Rach. Here you go!

Jason's suit, mom's dress, and Rachel's blue dress. You can also see the flowers that we have made so far in these pics!

Sticks

I still like the idea of sticks as centerpieces...something that is tall but doesn't block people from seeing each other across the table.

Here is a cuuuuute way to hand out place cards using twigs.

And here is a pic that combines twigs AND tissue paper flowers!

Everytime I talk about twigs Jason says we should get married in January. Is it too wintery?

How about paper flowers on cupcakes?

I bought a Martha Stewart kit and tried out making some flowers. Of course, we would make them in blue, etc, but they could look JUST LIKE this!

Here they are as a bouquet...sorta. First attempt!
