First content session with Pastor Vic

Today we met with Pastor Vic for our first session of real content related stuff. He is such a cool and down-to-Earth guy. We are so lucky to have a Pastor Vic in our lives to marry us. Luckily, we passed our online assessment with flying colors...our relationship is vitalized (which apparently is a good thing). This week we had to identify our "Unspoken Rules," define our roles, and cultivate our intimacy and passion.

Pastor Vic with his wife, Cindy.

Unspoken Rules:

Always have a special (and fancy) menu for holidays
Birthdays are to be celebrated in a big way
Always pay yourself first (save for retirement!)
Our shared fears and concerns:

financial security

global warming

Republicans

We have really liked our sessions so far, and feel like it has brought up some good points for us to talk about. Luckily, I'm engaged to such an amazing man who is very committed to making our marraige work and is willing to put a lot of effort into "planning our marriage."

Also, we are earning a lot of brownie points with Ron and Nan, who love the fact that we have a chance to do something that they wish they had done (counseling), and love even more that we asked for their input about our wedding and are taking their advice. :)
