Strike Day 3

We survived Day 3 on the picket line today! Here are some of the highlights...
We heart our picket captains! Sue has been going to hours of meetings each night and giving us the report first thing in the morning.

Today was Dog Day on the line...we had a lot of furry picketers! We also rocked out to Jori's version of the Beastie Boys song. This time, it was titled, "You've Gotta Fight For You Right To Teeeeeeeeaaaach!"

We continued to have great support on the picket line today...today we got candy from other WEA members from across the state, carrots and hummus, and much more. We also had several families visit, and heard a great speech from a h.s. student on why students should support the teachers. He also was a passionate Obama supporter...maybe I should introduce him to Michael??

Our "home base," aka the patch of sidewalk that we've camped out on. We also spent part of the day on Richard's Road, catching a little more visibility at the busy intersections. This takes Woodridge Walking to a whole new level!
Tomorrow we are planning to reward ourselves for a week of walking by a BBQ at Jan's. We are meeting at the ESC with all the members tomorrow afternoon. Maybe they will have good news for us? We are making the best of it, but we can't wait to get back in our classrooms and get the year started.
